What Is SMP?
SMP or Scalp Micropigmentation is a process by which hair follicles are replicated on the scalp via specialized pigments and equipment. The results are often the look of a freshly buzzed head of hair, but density fill is also an option for some Women or Men with thining hair. The finished product is really remarkable, and will last for 3-5 years without needing a touch up. Touch ups are required after some time due to the location at which the pigment sits in the skin. Also, UV rays break down the pigment causing it to lighten over time. Many liken SMP to a scalp tattoo, but in reality Scalp Micropigmentation is less intrusive, less painful, less permanent, yet very realistic.
It all boils down to this, We use Pigments that are custom mixed and specialized for each client. We then use micro-needles to place the smallest amount of pigment just under the surface of the skin in what is known as the papillary layer. This layer of the scalp is only 0.5mm deep! This process is continued over 3-4 sessions to build density and color layering. The results speak for themselves.
